Hi.
Well there have been a lot of extra features added to the system and that will be activated this year.
Video wall papers are about time though I don’t think I’d bother.
The optional ai serch replacement and run boxes are a good idea but I certainly won’t be replacing any of the basics which have served me thus far.
Still for a faster search system maybe it would be fine.
I am still unsure about having copilot having user and file access.
I mean sure microsoft has probably fixed their ai by now but who knows if I trust them.
A reworked widget system means once again I will have to turn the fucking thing off again and lets hope I can do so.
I have never found that system usefull but maybe if they make it usefull? naaaa!
I didn’t need it before and I won’t in the future either.
Copilot search in explorer.
See my previous comments on the above copilot features.
I don’t trust the system because of how many bugs its got.
Next outlook web app and the reminder system with calendars going in the app and being automatically loaded to windows calendar.
I think thats a feature that I would have loaded in already.
To bad that outlook web is the shitty replacement for the mail app which wasn’t much better.
Also I never used the calendar app ever even when it appeared in windows 10 so again thats not a problem.
Windows will become aigentic.
Nice, just nice, now look here at the muther fucking mockery of an honest to god disaster this months update actually is or was or will be.
In fact microsoft has pulled the thing and suggested it be uninstalled.
I won’t but I still haven’t found issues with it.
But for those that do then yeah thats what that is.
Thank god I use thunderbird and thank god my users use imap and don’t have their pst files on cloud storage.
Again I am not against ai, I just played a new game at www.l-works.net/escape which is web based and made with ai and really addictive.
I however think microsoft should stop, pull everything back to windows 10, delete windows 11 and rethink.
If they can’t then windows 10 pro should be windows 10 for home users with all features, and windows can be a payed for service for businesses and leave us home users with normal desktops.
Thats what I’d do, windows is so gone I would just delete it and restart.
Heck maybe I’d ditch windows 10 and drop back to a simple xp system and just leave it at that.
As a home user with my systems I probably will use ai but I certainly don’t need it as a primary driver.
Now I know as a business user or if I am in a business mode then I’d find it rather usefull but as it stands we here about more hell than heaven and microsoft needs to really think what its doing before it loses everything.
Its got the pc market and I wouldn’t trade windows in for the universe.
But thats partly because I have invested a lot of apps and cash in it since xp and to back out would be suicide.
However I will certainly reccommend my nefews go to linux or get a mac.
And even if they do get into windows I would also do android or something else.
Then again everything still comes with windows and therefore it makes sence to use it.
And thats probably why microsoft is not really losing cash.
Its also got a foot in the business system so no one is making much more than a medium fuss because they know they can’t just drop the ball and kick ms in the balls and run off though I suspect some like me wish they could.
With the cloud system being the modern net you’d think they would have updated their guides and such before moving things.
Chrome has another update so edge will follow.
A warning to while in edge to not hit f4 to copy a link or do it by mistake.
This caused a weird dialog to appear which I couldn’t get out of and then caused edge to freeze taking nvda with it.
Maybe I’d complain to microsoft but lets face it edge while it is chrome based is probably crap because its microsoft and microsoft is crap or behaves crappilly even though they are not always like this.
I hope that things don’t get worse.
Saying that with more of my stuff that worked in chrome only working in firefox, I do wander how long I will bother keeping a chromeum system.
If it wasn’t but for work I am not sure if I’d keep it active.
