And once again microsoft manages to get it wrong

Hi all.
Well the latest update just got released for windows.
Its an optional preview, better ai, better structures and already a few issues.
Due to a bug in volume shaddow backup programs no longer work.
As usual microsoft has not acknowledged the issue and probably won’t bother at all.
It will probably be fixed though but may not be notified.
Right now the usual roleback if you have a problem is the mantra which really doesn’t solve anything.
If you read the changelogs, the more concerning for me is disabling of drivers that are not part of the driver program.
Now I realise you need to get rid of legacy devices and granted I don’t use com0com on my old dos emulator that much but what if you did need to use something not in the database.
I have tried obviously to have every driver on my systems say intel, etc use generic drivers where I can so probably there won’t be any real problem, however there is always a concern.
Most likely if you use a current system built after 2010 or there abouts you probably won’t have an issue with a driver.
Intel has updated its wifi and bluetooth drivers to fix issues and with the current update load from microsoft there was an inten extention update which indicates that they are trying to be ahead so thats a plus.
Nothing has been heard on things not syncing but we may know within the next 3 to 6 days with the 100 hours/3 reboots that will take for microsoft to decide what drivers are able to run or not and what is screwed afterwards.
Now for pro units and over it maybe possible to kill the policy completely and while I wouldn’t usually kill or set things off I am tempted to avoid any breakages that could potentially happen on my systems by turning this security layer off.
Then again only 1 system uses 11 and for its part, its got intel’s latest drivers, standard audio drivers from windows update itself which should be whql registered etc.
I also regularly update my printer drivers and all my devices have the latest firmware updates installed.
I have 2 other systems, an amd and another intel unit using windows 10.
In both cases all have latest drivers from the device makers not the computer makers installed to make sure its complying.
And while thats not every driver the criticals are like this.
Its worth noting that intel rarely if ever updates their chipset drivers and keeps their displays to once a year if that.
Their network drivers are updated once or twice a year but seem to be more so.
Amd have till recently kept their chipsets and graphics updated though of this writing havn’t updated anything much over a month.
Dropbox has another build but the latest information is not appearing in the release feed and a question by one of its users is on that feed now so thats ongoing.
At least the release feed doesn’t point to a bad point in the database.
For those like me that can’t stand or have no desire to upgrade to the v7 release of ccleaner, they are aparently still updating the portable.
Its now 6.40 rather than .39.
However the only thing it does is update the update servers so they work so you can skip it if you want.
Mozilla brousers are at 250 release 01 and all chromium units just updated as well as acrobat which regularly updates.
That is spaciffically firefox and thunderbird by the way.
There are a few things not updated of late, zoom is the major software that has not as of yet updated but that will come.
A reminder for those following things is that I will be out of the country from the 26th of the month till the 6th of june.
My last post will be round the 25th of the month.
My first posting will be after I get through my backlogs, hopefully by 10th of june.
It will be an update week after I return so I hope to have something to talk about.
