windows breaks again!

Really this is really getting really old, really fast.
Once again microsoft has managed to break windows after updates.
Luckilly thats just remote access for 10 users which will not effect a load of us home users much.
What sucks is the fact that there are now audio breakages in the system in particular usb audio devices.
For us visually impaired, audio devices are our screan.
They are also for music, sfx, games, everything!
If the sound breaks then we have no access.
I have often reformatted systems because of no sound.
I have often been asked by those I work for, about their systems.
Now days if there is no audio I won’t even attempt to start the work.
I do have usb devices so if the main system fails I have an option.
However usb audio is the backbone and if it fails then I’m done.
I have had no choice but to reinstall from scratch the system losing all data because there is no sound for me to even attempt to get things going.
So now what do those of us do when our audio devices stop working.
Come on microsoft, get the thing right!
We update your stuff to stay secure.
I had a system admin that simply never installed any updates at all because of potential issues and to be honest I am seriously wandering if microsoft is like this if I will even bother with 11 at all.
As I said, do I want my system to be secure or do I want it to start.
I want it to start of course.
Now there is a potentially mangled bit of hardware and the 10th gen system I got a couple years ago is already legacy meaning no real updates to its drivers exactly.
So hmph, another blow.
At this point I am seriously thinking with the mangled nature of 11 if I shouldn’t.
1. install windows 10 and make my account.
2. install windows 11 and then install all my software.
This is getting really silly now.
If I were microsoft I’d give the home users windows 10 and everyone else can have 11.
No ai, no web brouser bar edge I guess and nothing much else.
We old timers just want to use our systems.
I don’t see my requirements changing much and neither does my dad.
My aunt’s system can not use windows 11 but for what she uses it for the actual requirement to update for what she uses it for isn’t worth it.
Most of her secured stuff is on her android phone.
Bar email, and some spreadsheeting for sheets she makes herself and a couple ms card games the system is not really used for much.
Browsing with chrome is another thing but even then.
For myself, gaming, sound work, brousing and email with mozilla products are pritty much my end of line.
I also do testing but these days jobs are light and the sound work is small.
I have a resilio system which I boot up in the morning and once I have my shares updated I turn it off.
I power my dropbox client for personal file work every week then turn it off.
My use over my aunt bar a few more games isn’t much more than she does except I do have movies, music and various other things I listen to.
The only reason I’d even concidder update is mainly because this laptop is my only communications system so for that reason and that alone it maybe worth it especially if I want to take this thing on the road.
One thing is for sure though.
After my parents die I will have less reason to update and less reason to give a care about security.
And if I need to be secure I’ll get something small and silly with little power just for doing that.
I will never be a real business user so I won’t need 90% of the features windows has.
I don’t use a load of those features myself.
Audacity updated to a new and weird version which simply stopped a lot of older stuff working and went to a new system.
The previous audacity plugins I used didn’t work with the older version I had so thats 1 module I won’t use anymore which sucks.
I guess as stuff gets outdated I’ll continue to remove stuff until it matters enough.
I seriously think I was better living in an earlier time where it didn’t matter much.
