This sounds interesting. I wonder how accessible something like this would be?

  1. I wasn\’t sure if that type of thing would be all that accessible to us. You\’re right it could be taken off, and hopefully it wouldn\’t be hacked. But it works with bluetooth, so bluetooth doesn\’t work very far, so I think it would be ok.

  2. my only issue with this would be since its a central type device, it could get stolen, I assume its secured somehow but they can be cracked.
then there is things like what if you have heart issues or something not sure how it decodes things but I have a old eftpos card that its mag strip ripped off and things just stopped working.
then my dad yesterday had a slightly bent debit card with a chip and it has great trouble working, getting stuck in machines all the time.
worse still he is going away next week with my mum and there is no real time to replace it.
there is the strength of the actual device and weather you could loose it easily you would assume you could pull it off and on.
I\’d think something more perminant like genetic id would be something ofcause stuff like that would be hackable but probably not easily at any rate, its interesting.
The issue with any central security system is if you hack its master, you are screwed.
with a decentralised system if you hack it you may only get 1 part and it may not even let you access it may even defend itself.
my gmail and twitter which was linked not any more now, got hacked not that anyone would be able to do much with what I had.
in both cases the systems notified me about action.
I changed my password in twitter and configured security.
I unlinked everything from google and just don\’t link things much these days.
I revarified my id and changed my password on google before i did that I suddenly loaded my system and was told that because someone had tried to get in, nothing on the net would work till I got it fixed.
google showed me an activity report, which I followed but never wrote it down, though I did trace the isp and notified them and so well.
its never happened again but then my mail is cleared all the time never stays in inbox.
I use pop to transfer mail to my computer.
if I ever get a mobile device I would probably not set mail on it, a laptop is always better at least for me to handle the sort of thing.
However I had an issue once where I was working on a simple security update for the network back in 1997 there were 3 systems all modem linked.
I got it in my head to update them with security at the time.
this included a site blocker, an addon blocker, a shreader, a firewall, an av suite norton I think and another program.
To say they played nice just wasn\’t my lucky day.
norton was fine till I tried to config it.
really was not worth the 300 I spent on it.
it needed to much work to keep the system active and when I fiddled to much it died and I had to reformat and start again its rules were to rigid.
the blocking toolbar had no ai so it blocked evey window and program not knowing what it was which was fine till I needed to write some javascript for uni.
a reformat was needed to get rid of it and I never cared to much.
the firewall never worked properly thank god for xp.
the uneraser worked but I never needed it and the 2 free site modules I used, decided windows was spyware, and blocked ole function.
I had to reformat every computer, and wasted 20 bucks on the modules.
I used to have a system with spywareblaster and spybot in it.
however got sick of updating all the time.
I have msse and the windows firewall for now.
sometimes I run malwarebytes, but msse seems to handle most things.
    Just can
    \’t be bothered anymore.
however if I ever get something which worked like norton with its functions maybe.
though who knows if I will even bother.
I have been spoilt with a system that just works and doesn\’t need any interaction from the user.\\
I don\’t have to spend several hours making sure it works or it doesn\’t clash, crash or otherwise muck up.
I don\’t get fragmented drives caused by it creating temp after temp file.
I don\’t get hard drive waring from it scanning the drives and other junk when it is not supposed to.
and I don\’t get the spam system not working because its overritten bits of itself.
That doesn\’t mean its the end.
I plan to eventually rout stuff through a central server at least when at home, with several closed and open systems, maybe for the future who knows.
its a thing I keep saying but I have always loads on my plate.
I get through all upgrades on my card then something breaks or mangles or needs replacing.
