Another database getting loose, 1.1 million or more at risk

Hello Everyone!

In the light of the Covid19 problems we have, we have a very responsible company that did the right thing under the circumstances.

Researchers from a research company found the database online, looked at the data, and coontacted the company.

After the company was contacted, they found the problem, notified the researchers, and from what I can tell, put out a statement with what happened.

This happened as a result of Covid-19 work from home orders, and I’m sure that it was an honest mistake. No credit card data was exposed, although the company in this particular case cautioned people that you should monitor for potential misuse of data.

The company, SCUF Gaming was notified after the research company Comparitech notified them of the issue. This is the best solution possible, and this company did a gretat job documenting the timeline of events, the company’s response, and notes on what may have been the overall problem.

This is responsible reporting at its best, and I’m saddened we have another database problem, however, we know that mistakes happen and we can’t fault companies per see. Its what the company does after that is important, and we see that here.

You’re welcome to read the article, leave your feedback, and lets discuss. Is this the best that can happen under the mistake prone human kind we are? I honestly think so.
