On the 29th, an article was published through Security Week that talks about a large company called United Health Services (uhs) and an aparent cyberattack that may have lead to at least one death. If this is indeed the case, this will be the second confirmed death if it is indeed the case that a patient has died.
United Health Services has about 90,000 employees. Computers are not bootable, according to multiple reports indicated in this article. Bleeping Computer and Tech Crunch are linked within this article as well and workers turned to Reddit to voice their concerns and report what was going on.
With a large organization like this, I can only imagine that this is difficult, and I’m not even saying it is completely easy. The problem lies that we are not hearing if backups are maintained, as it can help restore from a ransomware attack.
According to sources, RYUK ransomware was to blame.

I just wish that actors can leave hospitals alone as they claimed they would do months ago. I predicted and even stated in podcast 12 of the box that this was not going to be the case. I was on with Preston, a caller in the state of Pensylvania when I mentioned this. This won’t be going away, in fact, I fear it is going to get a hell of a lot worse now that October is here and other sickness issues will be coming around the corner to add to the complications we are already having in this crazy year we’ve endured already.
