Lets try this again

Hi all.
Ok, its been most of the weekend and I can safely announce at least for now that we have stopped the current generation of spam accounts.
No captchas anymore, no extra authentication steps anymore.
There is a plugin called email verification at signups which will just do that.

Registration is the following send a name and email, and we send you a link.
Click that link and we will send you a temperary password or will we get you to set a password.
You set a password and you will be in as a subscriber.
Ask the admins if you want higher status.
Of course the other option is to use 2step on your wordpress account, and login.
You may or may not have to verify that way but still at this time no spammer has used wordpress as a vector.
Lets hope this is all I need to do.
