Recently, I was browsing facebook and saw something about twitter charging $19 for verification of accounts.
I don’t keep up with every little thing on social media, but when I saw the article I will link to shortly, it reminded me about what I saw just days prior.
While Twitter may be going through changes, the article talks about the fact that scammers will be trying to phish people out of their accounts by sending a link to a now closed page through Google’s services that asked for twitter username, password and phone number.
Email may still be lurking in your inbox, so please make sure that you are understanding what to look for.
I’m not sure what I’ll be doing with twitter. Its not like i use it a whole lot, but again, if I remove it, it might be more trouble for me since I am public in some ways.
I know I’ve seen tweets in my email from highlights which i aught o turn off on my accounts like I did for my main one. But in some ways, I can see some of what is going on.
I guess, in some ways, I’m not technicly the only blind prominent user, as one person said they were looking to move to Mastidon. I’ve heard of it and the client I use supports it, but I’m not there.
People may want to jump ship after Elon Musk fully takes over, and reports indicate that thhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhe entire accessibility team of Twitter has been let go, one tweet in said digest above said he was glad of it, as Twitter made them work as an assembly line.
The article talking about the scams that might be around the twitter verification is titled Amid Twitter changes, the scams have begun – Don’t fall for this one and I hope that this finds you well. Please be careful out there!
