Well, I know I’m behind, but we’ve been working on cleaning up the network with too much spam! I know that I’ve gotten so much of it that its just hard to deal. But now that that’s getting sorted out, let’s talk about what i’ve recently read about this significant thing we must use.
Let’s say that you’re looking for an application to help you with this as you don’t know what’s out there. That’s great! I’m happy that you’ve decided to take a look around to see what you can use.
I’ve talked about the fact that I use Lastpass authenticator, but there are many others from the likes of Trend Micro, Google, Microsoft and possibly others.
While getting a handle on my email, I’ve now read smething from Kim’s newsletter that might raise your eyebrows.
In yesterday’s podcast which is up on RSS, we had an open forum and we talked a little bit about Android and why there is such a huge disparity between malicious IOS apps and Android.
If I had been able to keep up, I would’ve read this article titled Don’t download one of these scammy apps pretending to be an authenticator.
The article does not indicate how many apps the Komando team found that were malicious, but there are apps that claim to be authenticators but they serve ads and are obtrusive.
In no way did we say yesterday that IOS was immune from issues like this, and as you can see, it can happen.
I like the tips that indicate that you should thoroughly read the app descriptions and look at the reviews. I know someone tells me they see and app, finds that is what they want and downloads it. That’s great, but when you find out it doesn’t meet your needs, then you ask questions.
I always ask for links from people or ask what exactly the app’s name is so I get the right one. People can say they’re dice world as an example and it can be a completely different app. I mention dice world as an example, but it can happen to any app.
With that said, this article should be read so you can understand what types of things are out there.
Please keep safe, and please be well.
