Mastodon is crossing my desk with an article Twitter’s blue ticks disappear as Musk attacks NY Times which is interesting.
Elon Musk is claiming that the New York Times puts out diarrhea on their twitter account and calls the paper worthless to read.
Several other celebreties like Lebron James and now Ice Tea will also not pay for the privelage of having a badge.
Unfortunately, this is true, and as I stated, we’ll have to see what happens.
Twitter is known to not do things, and as of this writing, there are probably people who still have third party access to the API that probably shouldn’t unless they changed their mind on the API issue. The JRN has not seen anything else about the API issue, so we can’t comment any further.
Businesses need to pay $1,000 a month for their gold badge. It is not clear if government pays for the gray badge and we pay $8 for that.
I know I’m not going to pay $8 on any of my accounts, and I’ll be looking to move at least Braille2000 to Mastodon as well as my Network feed.
I’m not sure what to do with White Cane Travel as of yet, the site is there, and we should have a Mastodon presence there, but not sure how to proceed with that yet.
The point of all of this extra verbage is tht businesses and individuals need to make a decision. Twitter’s numbers have fallen to last within the rankings of numbers of users.
I guess we’re going to figure out what we’re going to do if it seems as though its harder to give out news based on the projects I have. Until then, we’ll support twitter, but not as a paying customer. Sorry. Its too unstable in my honest opinion. Too many questions and a great article from Massachusetts about the fact Elon removed the accessibility team and I’ve not heard anything else on that.
Let’s see what happens, and we’ll be in touch.
Great for the New York Times BTW to not respond to those attacks, they’ve got better things to do BTW.
