In a very interesting article, Corporate America definitely had a hand in this Cyber crime story.
The very lengthy article is titled My phone, my credit card, my hacker, and me is the article.
The hacker ripped off the reporter for nearly $10,000 of charges they didn’t make.
The Credit Card company didn’t help as they saw they verified everything, Verizon said that they couldn’t help although they confirmed the attack, but other stores did and didn’t respectively.
This story is one of these that should be passed around. Its unfortunatem, but it can happen to anybody. Sadly, I would’ve probably looked at that free invoice which would’ve told me to possibly lock my card.
I would’ve then said that I never got my replacement card like I expected.
I sometimes lock my card when I am not expecting to use it. But that’s hard to do when you’re using it too.
This was a great article. A sad story indeed.
Cheers to this guy for writing this and telling his story! Something I advocate for.
