What is going on with Windows now a day?

Hello folks,

I’m wondering what is happening with Windows. With version 11 which was updated with the batch of patches for Windows Update, this article titled Microsoft is Slowly Rolling Out Ads in the Windows 11 Start Menu which is bothering me.

First, why is windows giving us advertising if we either paid for it, or were able to upgrade to it from version 10 if that is the path you took?

I know Microsoft has a lot of programs, but an advertisement for an editor nobody has ever heard of? Probably not.

I’d rather use something that I’m comfortable with than than use something you’re popping up on my screen that I’ve never heard of.

I’m glad that I have choice and I’m happy I’m not on 11. I’m wondering if they are even accessible?
