Most of the 100 million people stopped using threads, “I wonder why?”

One of the things that was not talked about in the Ars Technica article titled Most of the 100 million people who signed up for Threads stopped using it was accessibility. A lot of accessibility folk who do accessibility work as well as the disabled in general tried it out and left.

So there’s some of the people you will probably not get back unless you bring accessibility features.

Next, the fact it is tied to Instagram is a turnoff, and the vast amounts of data you collect … more than your parent product Facebook even.

I am still advocating people to stay way from threads. Until it can tell us why it needs access to contacts, your microphone when its supposed to be a text-based thing, when you decide to put in accessibility work, the whole bit.

Have fun with this one!
