Russia blocks open VPN protocol and wire guard protocol

This is probably not the first time that countries who control the Internet their citizens has done this. Probably on a very different blog at a different time, this network talked about this, and we probably have a podcast on it.

This article was spotted today and is titled Russia Starts Blocking VPN Protocols.

I don’t believe we’ve ever had any of this trouble here in the United States and other countries we have relations with, but Russia and China are known for this.

Should this be surprising? If yes, why? Is this the first time you’ve heqard of this happening? If so, what are your thoughts?

You might be able to find info on China doing this with what they call “The Great Firewall” where they can block services and websites outright.

This … is going to get very interesting.

This is definitely a sad time for those who rely on VPN services.
