There are a few articles in my backlog, and one new one I’ve not read as of yet.
Okta hit by another breach, this one stealing employee data from 3rd-party vendor comes from Ars Technica.
While we continue to learn about what exactly happened, from this article, I would gague that we’re still in the learning stages.
This articles first paragraph indicates that at least 5,000 employees are affected by this breach, but I think we’re only at the beginning with this article.
In No, Okta, senior management, not an errant employee, caused you to get hacked the article indicates that many different events happened, and things weren’t set up to begin with.
We did hear about the one password issue, but I didn’t blog it. But other companies then came forward with issues which lead to the resolution this article covers.
I’ve not read this one yet, but news outlets including Krebs on Security are reporting that all customers of Octa are breached. Okta: Breach Affected All Customer Support Users is the article title.
Since I’ve not read this article yet, I’m not in a position to comment further.
We did blog Okta got breached, har files taken early November, and I think we did a good job with covering that one.
That seems to be it for now, please stay safe, and make sure you follow the provider’s instructions if you were affected.
