Another Crypto company dealing with wallets got attacked via a supply chain attack according to this article titled Supply chain attack targeting Ledger crypto wallet leaves users hacked.
The attacked app was replaced with a code update replacing the bad app within 6 hours.
Hackers compromised the code behind a crypto protocol used by multiple web3 applications and services, the software maker Ledger said on Thursday. Ledger, a company that makes a widely used and popular crypto hardware and software wallet, among other products, announced on X (previously Twitter) that someone had pushed out a “malicious version” of its Ledger Connect Kit, a library that decentralized apps (dApps) made by other companies and projects use to connect to the Ledger wallet service.
After several hours, as stated, they replaced the software, but it surely asks questions about how they had the issue to begin with.
But it was even faster, as they deployed that fix 40 minutes after they were made aware of the issue. But how they got in is probably going to be a mystery.
Again, the article is titled Supply chain attack targeting Ledger crypto wallet leaves users hacked. Hopefully we’ll see what happens.
