Clearview AI being fined, again

Clearview AI fined €30.5 million for unlawful data collection is the latest article on Clearview AI.

This one I read yesterday, and I know I’ve not been blogging a whole lot.

Per usual, they’re going to claim that they’ve done nothing wrong, and that since it is all public, they can do what they want.

This fine comes from the Dutch authority this time.

If you’ve seen this, feel free to contact us through comments. I didn’t know how I’d cover this, but maybe I better just leave it alone and let it speak for itself.

Thanks for reading!

To be honest this is going to happen a lot till the industry settles down.
However for the modern gens about before itunes, before audible, opensource, 7digital, bandcamp, self publishing music, blind movie vault and other services back when the net began, before streams, back when you if you knew them gott on private servers ftp mostly full of pirated movies, music, audio drama, other hacks, and sometimes like me got stung, always fighting the system, well that happened.
We are going through the same now, the induustry was predominantly comercial only, everything was on cds, no freeware, no opensource, music was cd only.
The cd store was in business and adds on tv.
The system took about a decade to adjust.
Yes you can still hack, and pirate on torrents but there are a lot more choices now.
Hell even isps include netflicks with your sub, you can even buy indevidual sky shows like the olympics now.
I just brought music from avalanche citty on 7digital in my country.
I have loads of legally brought digital music.
Yes the dvd, video, and general music stores are now niche markets now but freeware and opensource do exist.
If you don’t like company x then go to company y.
Oh and depending on what it is, if company x catches you pirating and asks you and you give a good reason, you may get a deal out of it and get them to understand.
Still a long way to go but its a lot better than it was.

So ai is going through the same junkpile.
I know family and others that have used it.
I live in the dead net amongst a few x sites, wordpress and old mostly dead systems, with a litttle push outside.
I have no desire to connect with the wider matrix or the new borg collective but then I am an old gen I believe melenial is the title given by the system as I was born in 1982.
I have no desire and may never do buut sttill I observe.
I mean if and when it appears I will use it I just haven’t found a reason to bother yet.
Laws and the industry will have to adapt.
If we were the borg that would be immediately.
We are not robots so its going to take at least a decade if not 2.
I believe it took 15 years at least to adapt the music and movie industries.
Ai is still an experement, eventually it will appear.
Then again I am playing a japanese game which just got translated mostly with ai and several dedicated players and am loving it.
So I guess I am indirectly using it.
Its going to take a while for ai to become the norm so I think all of us will have to be patient.
From an old trecky to the rest of you, it will become and we will prevaile.
Meanwhile keep your shields up and phasers charged.
Ai is sttill young we need to watch ourselves but if heads stay cool well we will see.
Of course if you read my blog, us humans aren’t that far from a omega core breach but that asside we will make it most likely.
