Car rental giant Avis discloses data breach impacting customers has been sitting on my desk. I read this yesterday and OI’m trying to figure out how to exactly cover this.
While Avis has said they contained the breach, they aren’t really saying anything.
This can’t necessarily be good, especially ince they have to collect your drivers license as part of the rental process.
We know that the attacker(s) had access for three days, but if you read the article through, the company isn’t really saying what is known to have been taken.
Maybe they don’t like the coverage, but would they like the coverage more when we find out not through them that info was pilfered?
Those who have used them should be on the lookout for letters and communication. Let us know what you find out.
