Malicious ad distributes SocGholish malware to Kaiser Permanente employees

There’s a new player in town that isn’t necessarily new, but it isn’t necessarily old.

SocGholish can distribute other pieces of malware including our good friend Cobolt Strike which has been known to be a complete problem and we’ve talked about it on TSB.

SocGholish has appeared when you search for something using Google specificly and the Google Ads popping up first.

While no criminal gang is mentioned, we know that abusing Google’s ad facility to get their wares in to your machine is becoming more common place.
