This particular attack happened because of an Amazon AWS bucket exposure online. Yet the second one that was found in this newsletter provided by MalwareBytes.
This unfortunately is a trend that I was hoping not to see, as I know we covered one of these before, but said that I hoped it was a one-off thing.
Sadly, between the exposed databases and now the AWS drives being wide open, I’m afraid we’ll be seeing a lot more of these.
