Security firm’s chrome extensions pilfered

Cyberhaven is one of several people or companies who has had their chrome extensions pilfered by cyberactors.

The goal was to cause havoc by stealing information from users.

Others pilfered include:

• Internxt VPN – Free, encrypted, unlimited VPN for secure browsing. (10,000 users)
• VPNCity VPNCity
• • Uvoice – Rewards-based service for earning points through surveys and providing PC usage data. (40,000 users)
• ParrotTalks – Information search tool specializing in text and seamless note-taking. (40,000 users)

None of these extensions I’ve heard of before, but this is something that we’ve talked about before.

While this is not necessarily commonplace, it can happen to your favorite extension, no matter what type of extension it is.
