I called our very own Preston Gaylor to check in with him about some things we’re doing across the network, and he advised me that IOS has released 18.3.2. But TVOS and other apple products are also updated.
According to Bleeping Computer’s coverage, web kit is the main thing fixed, as it has been targeted in several CVE numbers through the years, and this is another one of these zero-day attacks.
Its not uncommon for apple to have these, but as I said, its good when the provider like Apple can jump on board and get these things fixed as quickly as possible.
Apparently, according to the same Bleeping Computer article, this was a sophistocated attack against specific individuals, but we’ve heard this type of thing before said.
I guess we’ll see what happens here.
Here are the articles to read.
- Apple fixes WebKit zero-day exploited in ‘extremely sophisticated’ attacks Bleeping Computer
- Apple Releases iOS 18.3.2, iPadOS 18.3.2, macOS Sequoia 15.3.2, and tvOS 18.3.1 AppleBVis
Thanks Preston for getting me aware of this so we can get the word out to those who do not know of this. I probably would’ve found it through regular browsing, but we work together for this very reason.
When possible, patch up. See everyone later.
P.S. we do not know if anything is fixed accessibility wise, feel free to report your findings.
