Ohio man charged with putting kill switch to sabotage network

An Ohio man named within the linked story in this post is going to possibly get 10 years for sabotaging the company he worked for by putting a kill switch in a piece of code he developed.

After the suspect was terminated, his account was properly deleted, causing distruction which caused thousands of dollars to fix.

Besides the supposed 10 years, this guy should be getting the opportunity to repay the money the company who was named needed to spend to get their systems back up after his neglegance.

My honest opinion? 10 years won’t cut it for someone whose goal was to destroy the company.

Sound off in the comments if you want.

Developer guilty of using kill switch to sabotage employer’s systems is the article.

Maybe this will be the first article the revamped Tech Podcast will go after in my audio diatribe. We’ll see how this goes.

  1. To be honest I’d see what the fuck was the relattionship with this company and the guy in question before I pass judgement.
Now I won’t name the company but its one of the big suppliers of washing machines and other appliences.
Its got a brand called hire, its not samsung, sony panasonic or others and its one of the old ones maybe even one of the first.
You can probably guess who that was.
Anyway after a restructure and movement off shore there were some management changes.
I have a family member who has an health condition, lets just say that.
That pritty means he had to go at some point, maybe he held on to long when he clearly had no place there, no one knows.
He wasn’t treated rightly though and now he has gone well there is little of him left.
If I could completely demolish that company and wipe them out completely even if I got 10 years I’d probably do it.
None of that was good, and it started in a stable position and I was proud he worked at one of the top companies but that was 30 years back before stuff got outsourced to many other countries like mexico and china.
I doubt vary much if this guy went out of his way to just destroy for no reason at least I’d like to believe so.
Even though I was on the sidelines with the family it wasn’t good.
And not even we know the entire thing, not that we wish to.
I mean I don’t usually side with the bad guys but just remember there are more layers to this onion and like in the family case I just pushed out here, I don’t want to know the details really but yeah that.
