It hurts to be a software engineer

Hello gang,

Its been quite a few days with meetings, and an outage which was beyond our control so we could not post yesterday like we hoped.

Michael in Tennessee sent me this article about a Doge employee as well as a CISA employee who apparently had infostealing malware on his machine.

Info seems to go back as far as the 2013 Adobe breach, but could be only as far back as a month or so for infection.

Not much is known, and this story is a few days old.

For someone who is in this industry, I am running software to try and combat this, but you never know these days.

The article from Ars Technica is titled DOGE software engineer’s computer infected by info-stealing malware if you want to read it.

Kyle Schutt is like any other person who could have fallen for something he now regrets, so the point is not to destroy his reputation.

We hope that he can clean up his computer and makes sure he learns from his mistake.
