Now that my project is done, I’m going on the hunt for things that might be of value and move this blog.
Today, I want to talk about some good news where takedowns are concerned.
Looks like operation end game is still around, taking down a big service that supposedly did two things; allow people to crypt their programs and then check it against antivirus software so they can be as effective as possible.
The U.S. and other countries took down another couple of web sites including avcheck.net, cryptor.biz and crypt.guru. Avcheck and Cryptor are seized while the third is offline.
The seizure notice says:
This domain has been seized in accordance with a seizure warrant issued in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas as part of a coordinated law enforcement operation and action by: The United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas and the District of New Jersey, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Dutch National Police, the Dutch National Public Prosecution Office, the United States Secret Service and the Finnish Police.
There are tons of images involved too and links to various places outside of the domain.
The article on this one is titled Police takes down AVCheck site used by cybercriminals to scan malware if you want to read it.
I hope that each and everyone of you pass it along to those who want to do harm. You will eventually get caught. If you do, it may not look so good for you.
Thanks so much for reading!
