Hi all.
The big news will be wednesday when patches drop.
A reminder to all users that I will be shutting down from next monday to the end of that week so for around 5-6 days aprox for my mid winter vacation.
Then a couple weeks later or so in mid september a surprise family vacation with my nefews.
In november I will also be shutting down for a week to attend a garden festival.
During these I will not be taking my laptop, just my phone for minimal stuff, a recorder and my book envoy module and relaxing.
So all sorts of stuff is going on.
The big tech news is that someone is suing ms over win10 end support.
It also appears that ms extended updates need an ms account login so I guess my users will not get the update end of year stuff even though the system loaded before that happened.
Thank the lord mine got the update almost right away.
Next after reading the article about gaming scams this appeared in the local news.
https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/569567/fake-fashion-store-scams-hit-nz-buyers-and-genuine-shops
To summerise this is all about clothing scams with fake store names and real locations used for these names.
The clothes are fakes and bad quality, the price expensive.
The scammers are using new zealand as their base location though they are in other locations.
Its a real problem but little we can do about it bar realise thats another attack angle.
Remember if it sounds to perfect then it probably is a lie.
Win 11 autopilot is supposed to be getting chat gpt v5 models to a point.
Firefox 142 is on the cusp of release and that means thunderbird is to.
Nvda latest version is in rc so is due to go out soon.
I am now the proud owner of a logitech g512 gaming board because my asus mangled itself during update though maybe something else was screwed up.
At least g hub is accessible in a web format.
Ok thats it this week maybe on wednesday or thursday I post more.
