Hi.
See this post for context.
As expected preloading the shell doesn’t fix things as microsoft thought in fact it uses more memmory, not massively much but it certainly doesn’t achieve things.
Next the so called ai features in windows 11 are not secure as they are cross device so could be used to install malware.
So microsoft has just confirmed how backward and potentially harmfull and therefore as far as I care absolutely muther f**cking useless their ai actually is.
Full access to apps and certain user folders.
I mean really?
Why would we go agentic if we know that there is a risk involved.
This leads me into the next thing.
Its been confirmed that a billion users are not going to load windows 11.
Half of them are not compatible but don’t see the reason to upgrade or throw away perfectly working systems.
I am one such user.
The other half can upgrade but find windows 10 a faster os.
Personally my dad just linked his phone because it wasn’t syncing right.
He now has 2 accounts on the system and a lot of confusion is going on.
He uses both google accounts but now has 2 microsoft ones.
I have no idea how to put everything back to just 1 and who knows.
In the end its a lot of confusion.
For myself, I have my local account which is windows.
Everything else can log into whatever and it doesn’t matter.
The secondary account on windows has none of the local apps and settings so if used will have to be setup as if you have a new system which is counterproductive.
However bits are changed all over the place and my dad does use both accounts but still thats without ai.
I personally have not found windows 11 slow on the 10th gen cpu I have but its certainly harder to opperate the system with all its settings, not easier.
My windows 10 systems just start without any real issue.
It is possible for me to upgrade but I have almost no reason to even attempt to do so.
This old box still works and I don’t really need the extras.
And now its summer, the hottest part of the year and its going to be a real schorcher.
My head and eyes are complaining.
The light is blasting through like a laser and I’d rather be walking on the beach or sitting listening to the birds while having a coffee in my deck chair under an umbrella than on my computer.
In fact I am up round 5 and spend time online.
I am back on here today round 5, closing my blinds to sit in the coolness and typing here.
I may play a game but certainly not one needing headphones.
On another note, firefox is going to go to 146 at some point next month and watch out for final updates of everything.
