Hi all.
Well with articles online showing that ai makers like open ai are losing market share microsoft seems to finally realise how much of their new stuff users don’t need.
In the latest beta its reported ai features in explorer can be turned.
A new feature called agenda will be out as a web2 thing.
Of course it briefly will impact cpu and memmory but the keyword is briefly not perminantly.
A few more mods to start menus are also proposed.
To be honest I feel sorry for microsoft.
We as users didn’t really need windows 11.
We got used to 10 and its mostly stable.
We didn’t need the weird context menus.
We didn’t need a lot of the extras the system has.
Now I get it with office 365 and cloud storage to a point.
We didn’t need our drives incrypted, we didn’t need to login with a ms account.
We didn’t need ai or at least the current implimentation.
We didn’t need the background apps panel in 10 replaced.
Now if the agender module works where it can attach teams and zoom then maybe I’ll bite.
If I can login with my google account into windows I’ll bite to.
Yesterday I powered teams which I rarely do and discovered skype has been fully merged into teams.
At least I can continue with skype, skype services are now all in the teams hub and that is at least pleasing.
Bar the wake word changes in ai and a few other things there are a few things I’d like microsoft to do.
1. I’d like more blind friendly games like as dusk falls or similar adventures or other things made by the xbox studio and microsoft.
I would like a full sound event control scheme and theme run like in old windows and to design new events from custom calls and such to what things did when I hit buttons to ambient sounds.
Maybe even an environment while I work to go over sound and video if I chose.
I would like a ccleaner like tool with advanced features and a script with all my setting to run and clear out at a touch of a key.
I would like a better default sound recorder that could do more than the default does, not just wave files but mp3s to maybe.
I mean sure I can install thirdparty files but really the less I have well.
I’d like something like the flux module that can do daylight savings.
I’d like weather in my tray and ask the system via voice for information like that and have the ability to log my conversations for various things.
I’d also like microsoft to have requirements for various things.
Obviously if I use a certain advanced feature I will need the power but there should be a basic system where its the basics.
Apps, explorer itself, the desktop, no advancements, something like 10 with basic features and a local account so we can get things done.
