The case for windows 10

Hi all.
As mentioned google chrome is now to 148, and now edge has predictably joined it.
At least it didn’t take til sunday as it usually does.
Codec mega guide is at 19.7 as predicted.
Firefox has a minor 02 release this month but nothing else.
Another amd driver is out for some gamers but don’t expect an update if you have an old pc.
This driver fixes some game issues and if you are visually impaired like me this driver has 0 usefullness.
Windows 11 is going to aparently use all cpu power to open apps to increase performance.
My only semi concern is it may push fans to full power unnecesarily waring them quicker than otherwise.
On windows 10 25% of gamers aparently according to steam are staying on there.
The big reason is stability which reflects the earlier post I did this week.
Windows10 hasn’t caused the headakes 11 has.
Over time this may change as we move away from updates to the os.
However as long as I can continue to update at least firefox and thunderbird even if I force it I see no reason to upgrade myself.
And even then my first push maybe to force it.
With the prices of components going up people are not ready to design or buy new stuff and we all know who to thank for this issue don’t we!
I’ve said enough to fill a pool on that so I won’t.

Next is the subject of ai.
Do we want it on here?
Right now by default I have set ai agents to off.
With the way they are written into the new os, and with the fact they are distributed to just about anyone I can see the potential for abuse by advertisers and spammers/ scammers!
On the other side with the entire network switching to a new nural interface I am probably denying the borg collective access.
Its just a check switch and its off by default.
There is probably a strong case to make this run so that more can search our database and article push.
There is just about enough fake stories on the net though and I am not sure if I wish to process that right now.
Its off for now and will probably stay off till at least later this year or if I get feedback from users.
I am tempted to try it just to see what would happen.
As long as ai doesn’t get past our security system and gets admin access I think we will be ok.
The user needs to email me in order to not get trashed by the user deleter and so far no one has done this.
I could easilly shut down site registration, and delete all users in the database bar the makers, kill the security subsystems and health systems as we wouldn’t need them and leave it at that.
On the otherside I’d be killing productivity and shutting down a bit of the net which is the main reason I’m even keeping registration online at all.
Once we turn ai on and ai gets in, even though we can stop it there wouldn’t be just like registrations and such any real sense in doing so.
After all it goes against my principals.
An upgrade shouldn’t ever be downgraded its against god, and progress.
On the other end, this site is small and we post stuff thats already online which ai already has access to to a point.
To be honest I’d be happy leaving things like they are.
Also I am still concerned with ai agents as they are.
I have for now turned off ai in my brouser and to be honest havn’t needed to turn it back on again.
The same is probably true for this space.
