can chat gpt be charged with murder?

Hi this appeared from the local radio site.
https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/world/594881/can-chatgpt-be-charged-in-a-murder-florida-wants-to-find-out
So some student in florida of all places asked chat gpt about weapons, locations and the like, and there are people that recom they can charge ai with murder.
Here’s the thing.
While yes we need to be carefull about ai and its issues do we suddenly want to have it so that due to the fact the ai or those behind the ai be charged with any offence, now will we have to have so many safeguards and so much dumbing down of the system that it becomes useless.

I don’t know about ai, but we recently had a few things that got cheated on and cracked.
The author of this particular product spent so much cash and time making sure his stuff couldn’t get hacked that it dulled it right back.
The product ultimately failed and the guy went out of business in short order.
So what is next?
The worse case scenario is the bubble collapses in on itself and thats it.
No vr, no smart glasses, no smart speakers, no assistants, most of the current world’s echonomy is linked to this so no world either.
We can’t afford it.
Is an ai a person.
Does it have a heart, does it have a sole?
Or is it just something on a drive.
Could my text file be a criminal.
What if I just renamed it?
Do we seriously want to be moving round this junk on a monday evening.
