I’m quite a bit behind, and people may know about this, but this may effect small business owners. According to an article on Cyber Scoop, The SBA is notifying potential small business customers about a potential issue that leaked personally identifiable information (pii) on some of its recent applications.
The article in question doesn’t say what happened, but they did say that the SBA web site was taken down to fix whatever the issue was.
In the light of th Covid19 issues that effect the globe, its unfortunate that this happened. In light of this, the SBA did the right thing in taking down the site after learning about the issue. They promptly fixed the issue, and braught up the application that businesses are using.
If you’d like to lern more about this because you may be effected, or you are curious, Small business owners applying for COVID-19 relief may have had PII exposed, agency says is the article. Sad times.
