I posted a blog post some time ago mentioning that cyber groups, or at least some of them, would quit attacking our hospitals and other critical infrastructure, but in an article I read today, oit looks like they might not necessarily be hitting places with ransomware, but they’re hitting places from the outside. I said that enough should be enough!
As posted in an earlier article on this blog, I think its time for people to help each other through this time, and the cyber security industry is doing that. But if the people who promised not to attack until the pandemic backed off, we can do our jobs as a country to make sure the care is given to those who need it instead of worrying about whether we’re attacked.
One quote in the article said it best, doctors need to do their job, and the cybersecurity people need to do ours and share the intellegence we get. But if the cyber actors would do what they say they’d do and leave us alone, we’d be better off.
Its bad enough that we are not getting paid, a lot of places are shut down, but how long could that be done until someone gets hurt? Lots of necessity places are open and they could be in trouble at some point with all this havoc going around. Enough is enough!
COVID-19 Has United Cybersecurity Experts, But Will That Unity Survive the Pandemic? is the article and this is going to be read and learned upon.
