As I continue to catch up on Mastodon while also working to get you TSB and other great content, I stumbled across another Elon Musk riddled article.
While I’ve not been a big fan of Elon’s policies, now that the Pandemic is over, work from home should be optional for those who have legitimate reasons to do so.
I know during the Pandemic, there wasn’t a choice, but he does have a point. If food delivery drivers can’t work from home, neither should you.
Elon Musk says ‘get off your work-from-home bullshit’/ is the article, and just like this blog post, there’s some strong language in the article.
And, this is his quote, not mine.I would love to go to an office to work if it was right, otherwise I’m working from home. At least I’m working.

Who trusts mr musk though.
Ok saying that working from home has its own set of issues including the socialisation deal.
However it should remain as a valid option as a role especially for remote and the disabled.
The biggest way to catch covid is still the local public whatever it is.
You can wear masks on the busses but if I had a choice to not use public transport at all is a good way to handle it.
Sadly those in town that need it to go outside have no choice.
For myself, a suburbian living in the north shore of my city, while yeah town is good for studdy and work and some good eateries, party locations, etc, its not worth getting covid over.
My mum has heart issues and I am quite sensitive to the environment as it is and get sore throats etc daily.
I don’t need that extra.
Case in point, my brother went to a conference for work.
He has been working from home, used to work in town.
The result, he and his entire family, son, wife, etc have covid.
Proves a point, if you don’t need a bus or train, then just use your car, polluting that may be or don’t go at all.
In a recent long road trip I dropped weight because I found if I ate reasonably I didn’t need to eat for longer times than expected.
I do think if your job is primarilly at the office and you enjoy that then yeah things need to go back to normal.
I’d be saddened if online wasn’t an option.
There are meetings I often do online, even local ones.
I can go to the meeting, then leave.
Yesterday I attended a gaming seminar in the us without leaving my chair.
I was able to eat lunch while at that meeting, and leave.
I didn’t get the social afterparty aspect and I do think thats something I do miss.
Also online aint for everyone either.
If I had the choice I’d actually like to get out and go to whatever but with all the environmental changes, and all that especially if we expect to move off world in a century or two I really think that online needs to remain if not a focus at least a part of our lives.
