Ex-Michigan coach indicted for hacking, other crimes

I heard something today on board 15 of live wire about someone by the name of Matt Weiss.

In this story shared, it talked about how he supposedly hacked in to many accounts looking for things that were supposed to be private and not searchable.

The people targeted were mainly female, and he was able to gather lots of information from them without their knowledge.

While there may be things that can be searched, listened to and watched online, that is because someone put it up. But if it is meant to be in a closed account where it is to be private, than that’s when I have a problem with it.

If there are things I like, and I find it, that’s my doing. But I would never go so far as to hack in to people’s accounts just so that I can look at pictures or watch things.

The motive was not money, says the article coming from the Free Press.

Apparently, this was an eight-year scheme, and luckily for these folks that they were not children.

As heard in the video put up on live wire today, one person talked to the news about what they knew, and they basicly said that all they were told was that personally identifiable information was pilfered. No specifics.

Matt can receive up to 5 years per count and 2 years for something else which I’m not remembering at the moment.

As I’m thinking about this, I’ve decided not to put the audio up, even though it was a news program. I’ll let you read the article itself titled Feds indict ex-Michigan football coach Matt Weiss: He hacked computers to spy on women if you wish to read more.

Apparently, this story was written in March, and we’re hearing about it now. That’s the way it goes!
