We’ve talked about this numerous times. While I can’t blame the consumer we must find a way for the consumer to learn about why it isn’t a good idea to just put your camera on the Internet without making sure it can’t be tampered with.
I’m not specificly talking about the Ring issues or the UEFI issues where footage is shared with law enforcement or the general public with the company saying they aren’t, I’m talking about someone finding out you have one, then using it to get a foothold in to the home.
While I don’t blame the average consumer who may want cameras in sensitive places like the bedroom or bathroom, can you blame them? Some things are put there that may be valuable, so thinking its a good idea, that’s what the consumer does.
