There are many data brokers, only one company that might help
Kim Komando has talked about Incogni on her minutes and newsletters.
While this particular article has no link to them, you can find articles at Kim’s site that will give you a link.
The link I went to came from a newsletter but I am not about to give the wrong link.
This article talks about how Incogni was started and the parent company, Surfshark. (surf shark)
I almost signed up, but then I got to thinking, if I give them one email address, what about the others that are floating around like my lists email address?
What about other phone numbers such as my business number which ahve seen an infux of calls trying me to buy services I don’t even want? blog post 1 blog post 2
This company says that they got my number from Namecheap, who sold it to them. But they really don’t understand how domains work and unfortunately, with the domain I run it isn’t possible.
But if Incogni can make money by working tirelessly to get info from companies we don’t even have business with, that’s great!
Scummy data brokers caught selling military secrets — and your data, too and How to delete yourself from the internet might help you too.
But the article titled Your data, their profit: the data brokers you know nothing about goes in to a lot more of detail about some, but not all of the types of companies that are out there.
Here at the JRN, we do not sell personal information from any of the places where personal information may be collected. Our privacy policy was written to forbid this and only members get access to other members, unless it is a specialist where MENVI is concerned.
When searching for my name on Google or any other search engine, I found my old address, one of three telephone numbers, and of course my web sites. More recently, I found that my Skype, which is publicly available on my site, was associated. But it seems like they still have my old address. They could in theory get it if they want, since they had the old address.
For the price Incogni charges, it isn’t bad for a service who will assist in this process. This article was quite extensive and good to read from Cybernews.
We’ll be in touch.
